1Twitch Badge Usage: Key Findings
We found and analysed data from 180 badges with a total of 43.4M users.
As of March 9, 2026, the Prime Gaming badge is way ahead of the pack with 20M users. It's no surprise - this badge comes with linking your Amazon Prime account to Twitch, making it super easy for fans to grab.
The Twitch Recap 2023 (2.1M users) and Twitch Recap 2024 (1.7M users) badges also rank high. These were handed out to nearly every active Twitch user based on their yearly activity, so their popularity makes sense.
Right up there are the default badges Watching without audio (1.8M users) and Listening only (1.7M users). Every Twitch user has these by default, which explains why they show up so often in chats.
Limited-time badges from events continue to drive high adoption. Notably, the Raging Wolf Helm badge (1.9M users) shows excellent performance, nearly on par with Twitch Recap 2024. This can be attributed to its ease of acquisition - just 5 minutes of viewing in the Elden Ring category during the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC launch - as well as the immense popularity of the Elden Ring game and the badge's striking design inspired by in-game armor.
Another notable badge is GLHF Pledge, with 885.2K users. Its unique status and long-term availability make it a favorite among dedicated Twitch fans.
Most other popular badges are tied to special events and were only available for a limited time. The significant number of users with these badges highlights the growing community of passionate Twitch badge collectors and enthusiasts.
FAQ
Where do the data come from?
The data are obtained from the public API at Potat.app. We do not collect raw data ourselves but use the API to provide analyzed statistics for informational purposes.
How accurate are the data?
While the data may not be 100% precise, they are collected by a widely-used chatbot with extensive user coverage, offering a reliable snapshot of general trends in Twitch badge popularity.
This means the statistics aren't complete or exhaustive - they only reflect activity in channels where the chatbot is installed. That said, it's one of the most popular chatbots of its kind, deployed across a huge number of Twitch channels, and represents the only publicly available data on badge usage across the internet.
How are users counted for each badge?
Users are counted based on active badge usage in Twitch chats monitored by chatbot. Specifically:
- A user who earns a badge but does not use it in any chat is not counted.
- A user who sets a badge as active but chats in a channel without chatbot is not counted.
- A user who sets a badge as active and writes in a channel where the chatbot is active is included in the statistics.
This method tracks only visible badge usage in monitored channels, ensuring data reflect real-time engagement. While not exhaustive, the chatbot’s widespread adoption across numerous Twitch channels makes it a robust source for badge usage trends.
Why can't I find some of the badges on this page?
The page lists all available data from our source. If a badge is not included, it means no information about its usage was detected at the time of analysis.
How up-to-date are the information on this page?
The data are continuously updated and always reflect the most current information available through the API.
