We analyzed usage data from 196 Twitch badges, covering a total of 44M users.
As of April 12, 2026, the Prime Gaming badge leads by a wide margin with 20.6M users. It's no surprise - this badge comes from linking an Amazon Prime account to Twitch, making it easy to get.
Following it are the Twitch Recap badges - Twitch Recap 2023 (2.1M users), Twitch Recap 2024 (1.7M users), and Twitch Recap 2025 (1.2M users). Their popularity is easy to explain: they don’t require any specific actions and are awarded automatically based on a user’s activity throughout the year.
Right up there are the default badges Watching without audio (1.9M users) and Listening only (1.7M users). Every Twitch user has these by default, which explains why they show up so often in chats.
Limited-time event badges can also reach very high adoption. A great example is the Raging Wolf Helm badge (1.9M users), which ranks unusually high despite requiring a specific action to unlock. Its success is likely driven by a combination of easy requirements (just 5 minutes of viewing in the Elden Ring category during the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC launch), the game's popularity, and the badge’s strong visual design.

This means the statistics aren't complete or exhaustive - they only reflect activity in channels where the chatbot is installed. That said, it's one of the most popular chatbots of its kind, deployed across a huge number of Twitch channels, and represents the only publicly available data on badge usage across the internet.
How are users counted for each badge?
Users are counted based on active badge usage in Twitch chats monitored by chatbot. Specifically:
- A user who earns a badge but does not use it in any chat is not counted.
- A user who sets a badge as active but chats in a channel without chatbot is not counted.
- A user who sets a badge as active and writes in a channel where the chatbot is active is included in the statistics.
This method tracks only visible badge usage in monitored channels, ensuring data reflect real-time engagement. While not exhaustive, the chatbot’s widespread adoption across numerous Twitch channels makes it a robust source for badge usage trends.
